By placing a deposit or purchasing an animal from us, you indicate full acceptance of the following sales policies. Please read thoroughly before reserving or purchasing any animal.

General Farm Rights & Animal Management

  • Salt River Run reserves the right to retain any animal born on our farm at any time.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a sale to any individual for any reason while the animal remains in our care.

  • Transport company refusal: We reserve the right to refuse transporters if we've had prior negative experiences.

  • Right of First Refusal: We kindly request first right of refusal on any animal sold with our herd name or previously sold by us, should you decide to sell. This is not mandatory but appreciated.

Reservation, Waitlist & Deposit Policy

  • Free Waitlist: We offer a free waitlist for upcoming kids (View Kidding Schedule Here). If you're interested in getting on the free wait list, please reach out to us on Facebook or you can email us here.

  • Reservation Deposit:

    • 50% deposit is required after your chosen kid is born. You will be notified within a few days after they are born. No animal is considered “reserved” until deposit is received.

    • Once a kid is offered, buyers have 48 hours to respond before the animal is offered to the next in line.

    • Deposits can be transferred to another available animal but are non-refundable if you back out of a sale.

    • If your reserved animal becomes unavailable (e.g., passes away), the deposit may be applied to another animal.

    • If your reservation is not fulfilled, it may be rolled over, transferred, or refunded.

  • Adult Animal Purchases: A non-refundable deposit of half the total price holds an adult goat for 2 weeks or as agreed.

  • Preferred Homes: Performance/show homes and repeat buyers receive priority in fulfilling reservations on certain pairings.

  • Breeding Schedule is subject to change at any time.

Pickup, Boarding, and Transportation

  • All transport arrangements and associated fees, including CVIs and crates, are buyer’s responsibility.

  • We will notify buyers of known transports passing through the area or transporters we'ved used and trust, but final arrangements are up to the buyer.

  • Kids must be picked up by 4 weeks of age if they are on the bottle. Earlier pickup could be discussed depending on your bottle-raising experience.

  • Boarding Fees:

    • $50/month after 4 weeks if alternate plans are not approved.

  • Ground Transport is preferred but we are willing to airship if an airport locally is willing to work with us. At this time we do not have a working relationship with an airport, but we would be willing to discuss airshipping if that's the direction you'd like to go. There will be additional fees for airshipping.

Health & Veterinary Policy

  • All animals leave the farm healthy and up to date on:

    • CD&T vaccinations (you may be responsible for boosters depending on age at pickup)

    • Coccidia prevention (we use Toltrazuril)

    • Disbudding (unless polled)

    • Tattooing (registered kids and adults)

  • Pet quality animals are not ADGA registered and are sold without papers.

  • ADGA registration is included for all breeding-quality buck and doe kids. Pet/wether animals are not registered.

  • All goats may receive a vet-issued CVI before leaving, required for transport, at buyer’s cost.

  • We encourage a final health check by both buyer and seller at pickup.

  • Once an animal leaves the property, we offer no health guarantee except in cases of proven genetic flaws:

    • Examples: cryptorchidism, extra teats, freemartin, hermaphrodite

    • A written vet letter is required.

    • We will provide you with a replacement of equal value.
  • No refunds/replacements for conditions potentially caused by stress or environment after purchase, such as:

    • Coccidiosis, worms, pneumonia, etc.

  • We do not guarantee:

    • Show success

    • Height

    • Future production

  • Carpal Hyperextension: We do not offer refunds for this condition due to lack of definitive genetic evidence. We will provide you a replacement animal of equal value.

  • Fertility Guarantee:

    • Bucks and does under 2 years are guaranteed fertile.

    • Vet verification is required for any replacement if deemed infertile.

  • Animals may not return to our property after they have left, unless specifically invited.

  • This policy is strictly enforced to protect the health of our herd.

Herd & Care Standards

  • Goats are herd animals. We do not sell a single goat unless the buyer already owns goats of similar age or is purchasing more than one. We prefer our adults go in pairs. Discounts offered on multiples.

  • Kids are raised with:

    • 24/7 access to hay, water, milk and minerals

    • Coccidia prevention

    • CDT boosters at 21 days old, and then 3 weeks after that (if still at the farm)
  • The majority of our kids are bottle raised and available to leave at 4 weeks old, sooner if you're an expereienced bottle feeder. We do have some dam raised kids- they are available at weaning age (8 weeks for buck kids, 12 weeks for doe kids)

  • Adult management:
    • 24/7 access to hay, water and minerals
    • CDT boosters annually (usually 30 days prior to kidding)
    • Copper Bolus as needed
    • Monthly Replamin supplement.
    • Milkers will have a monthly CMT (California Mastitis Test) while in milk.
